Combine Metalwork and Traditional Woodcraft
One of our most unique and talked-about classes. Combine traditional blacksmithing with woodcraft to build a fully functional medieval crossbow from scratch. You will forge the metalwork — the nut, trigger mechanism and stirrup — and then shape and fit the wooden tiller and prod. The result is a working crossbow built entirely by your own hands using period-accurate techniques.
This class was partly designed with re-enactors in mind but is open to anyone fascinated by medieval craft and history. It is one of the most technically diverse classes we offer — moving between the forge and the woodwork bench over the course of the day.
